This
activity is designed to help girls understand and express their feelings.
The activity allows the girls to be creative in their expressions and
offers a variation from traditional journaling.
Have the
girls cut pictures from magazines or draw pictures of anything they
choose. Allow creativity and encourage a variety. For each picture they
draw or cut, have them write about the emotions this picture evokes.
They may write a narrative or just a word. They have the choice - it
is their journal - and their emotions.
Some questions
to ask the girls to get them thinking:
- Does
the picture make you feel happy, sad, or frightened?
- Why
did you choose this picture?
- Write
a story about this picture.
